RIP Douglas Tompkins

Douglas Tompkins, the founder of The North Face, died on December 8th, 2015.

I use products by The North Face every day. And while Mr. Tompkins hasn't been running the company since I have been alive, it's cool to see his impact. His Wikipedia article describes him as a "conservationist, outdoorsman, philanthropist, filmmaker, agriculturalist, and businessman." It's pretty inspiring to see someone whose description starts at conservationist and ends at businessman, because this makes me think of the positive influence he has had on the world.

So thank you for your work Douglas Tompkins. May your legacy live on.

Ok, week two of #tenbysix. As a reminder this project is my attempt to build ten prototypes by June. A bunch of other Recurse Center people have pledged to participate as well.

This month has kind of sucked. You'll notice a half-finished homepage here, mainly because I relaunched my site in frustration. Lots of things are broken, but if there is something you particularly miss, please let me know by email or @icco on Twitter.

Lets see, today I worked on trying to get gene (my drum machine) working in a way that would render nicely on mobile. I didn't get very far though.
